Spring Herbal Tea Recipes

Making and drinking warm beverages are one of my favourite daily rituals! Throughout the day I am always sipping on something warm - year round!

The 2 recipes below are from a great book called “Healing Herbal Teas” by Sarah Farr.

Some things to note:

When a herbal recipe calls for a “part” you can substitute that with any amount, depending on how much you would like to make! 1 part could be 1 tsp, 1 tbsp, 1 cup, etc.

If you don’t have all of the ingredients, get creative or don’t use! Have fun and follow your intuition. Making tea blends is really fun!

As always, check with your healthcare first, if you are new to introducing herbs into your life!

SPRING STRENGTH TEA

1 part nettle leaf

1 part raspberry leaf

1 part fennel

1 part mint

0.5 part ginger

0.5 part rose petals

Combine herbs in container (I use mason jars.)

Pour 1.5 cups hot water over 1 tablespoon tea. Steep 10-15 minutes. Strain and enjoy!

This blend can be used as a daily tonic for women. It can help build muscles and bones, tone the female reproductive system, improve mood, and strengthen digestion.

SPRING TONIC

1 part dandelion root

1 part burdock root

0.5 part ginger

0.5 part cinnamon

0.5 part reishi mushrooms

0.5 astragalus

Combine herbs in container (I use mason jars.)

Because of the roots in this blend, it needs to be decocted to extract its full range of nutrients. Place 2 tablespoons of tea blend in 4 cups of water. Simmer on low heat for 20 to 60 minutes. Strain and enjoy!

This blend is designed to help increase muscle stamina and recuperation, support immunity, and provide digestive support. It is a wonderful tonic for overall wellness.
